2026 Summer Series

Racing Format

  • Practice
  • 3 rounds of qualifying (round-by-round, best 2 to count).
  • Lunch break
  • 2-leg finals (each one counting as a separate championship score)

There will be prizes at the end of the series based on championship results. We try to give prizes to everyone who does the minimum number of events (5 events).

Rookie Class Rules

Rules for this class are fairly open, intended to keep speeds sensible and reduce crash damage while learning the hobby.

  • Suitable for all new racers, or those returning after a long break.
  • Any 1/10 on-road electric car, including Ready-To-Run (RTR) and race kits.
  • Allowed motors:
    • Core 27t Brushed (CR712). This is our ‘control’ motor; anyone racing regularly should run one of these to give an even playing field. The other motors are allowed so that anyone turning up for the first time can “run what you’ve brung”.
    • Tamiya silver-can and torque-tuned motors
    • Banzai kit motor
    • 17.5t brushless with minimum FDR of 5.0*
    • 17.5t fixed-timing brushless with minimum FDR of 4.5*
  • 7.2v NiMh or 2S hard-case lipo batteries only. Lipos must be balance-charged in a lipo-safe bag.
  • Any tyres are allowed. We have loads of good used tyres donated to the club that we give out for free, so don’t worry about buying tyres.

*Brushless FDR limits are provisional. We intend to limit brushless speeds for Rookies, to keep speeds sensible and similar to the brushed cars. We will review these over the course of the series.

SportsTC Rules

SportsTC is the ideal progression from Rookie, aimed at the Tamiya TT02, FTX Banzai and Carten T410 ARTR.

When starting out in Rookie it’s worth reading these rules, and buy a car that’s legal for this class, so you can progress without any additional outlay.

The full SportsTC Rules are here.

Frontie Rules

We are running two separate Frontie classes, catering for both the new BRCA 2026 rules and the long-established rules run in previous seasons

Frontie – BRCA ’26

This is for the new 2026 BRCA rules:

  • Ride TR09 slick tyres. Any wheel/variant allowed
  • Any BRCA legal ESC with 17.5k rev limit
  • Minimum 4.5FDR

Frontie – Club Spec

This is for the rules run in 2025 and earlier:

  • Ride cut slick (treaded) tyres, RI-36088. Any wheel/variant allowed
  • Hobbywing XR10 Justock G3 or G3S ESC with 15k rev limit
  • Open gear ratio

For both Frontie classes:

  • Hobbywing fixed timing 17.5t G2.1 motor
  • BRCA legal Frontie bodyshell
  • 1250g minimum weight
  • Open tyre additive

Hypercar Rules

  • Tyres:
    • Rush 32M (RU1069A) or 36M (RU1079BRCA25)
    • Team Powers 30 (TPR-TPG3014M-PH) or 36 (TPR-TPG3614M-PH)
  • Tyre prep:
    • Tyre warmers ARE allowed.
    • No tyre additives or cleaners of any kind.
    • No high-speed sanding other than of the bead on new tyres.
    • You can brush the tyres clean with a dry cloth/brush if desired, that’s it!
  • Bodyshells:
    • BRCA legal hypercar shell, latest list here
    • 85g min bodyshell weight (0.7mm lexan). If underweight, ballast must be added to highest point inside shell, i.e under cockpit roof.
  • Electric options:
    • 21.5t BRCA legal motor, with BRCA legal blinky ESC.
    • Hobbywing fixed timing 17.5t G2.1 motor, with BRCA legal 15k RPM limited ESC.
    • We will adjust RPM limit and/or add an FDR limit to 17.5t Spec as needed, to match the speeds of the two options.
  • BRCA legal 2S lipos
  • 1320g minimum weight
  • All other construction rules as per BRCA TC rules

17.5 Touring Car Rules

Cars must be BRCA legal including:

  • Rush 36M SPC36MR2 or Contact 36D JR-36RYBRCA26 tyres
